Twenty years of watching business owners get the wrong advice. I decided to do something about it.
I'm a financial advisor and funding broker with 20+ years in finance and accounting. I work with business owners — and especially women entrepreneurs — to structure capital the right way, before a single application is submitted.
I've always believed in understanding the numbers before making a move.
"My business philosophy is simple: I focus on building lasting relationships, not just a wide network. Algorithms change, platforms come and go, but I've learned that trust is what really sticks. That's why a single, honest conversation will always be more valuable to me than being another face in the crowd. It's the foundation I build everything on."
— Deb Hellman, Founder
My background is in finance and accounting. For more than two decades, I worked with businesses to help them understand their real financial position — cash flow, balance sheets, the full picture. What I kept seeing was that most business owners didn't have someone in their corner who would do that work with them before they needed funding. They'd apply. Get declined. Or worse, get approved for something that didn't fit — and end up under pressure they didn't need to be under.
Over time, I saw this happen to a lot of women entrepreneurs in particular. And not because their businesses weren't solid. Often the opposite — their businesses were strong, their instincts were sharp, and their work ethic was extraordinary. But they were going into funding conversations without the right preparation, and the system wasn't exactly set up to help them succeed.
I watched women get turned down with zero explanation. Get pushed toward high-cost products because that's what moved quickly, not because it was right for them. Get discouraged and walk away thinking they just weren't ready — when really, they just needed someone who would review their full picture first and tell them the truth.
That's when I made a decision. I wanted to build an advisory practice where the first thing we do is understand your business — not run your credit. Where the strategy comes before the application, always. Where you never walk out of a conversation more confused than when you came in.
Women entrepreneurs are my primary focus, but I work with every kind of business owner who values the advisory approach. What matters to me isn't the size of the deal — it's that when you leave that conversation, you know exactly where you stand, what your options are, and what happens next. That clarity is something every business owner deserves.
"After 20+ years, here's what I know: funding done wrong creates pressure. Funding done right creates growth. The difference is almost always whether someone sat down with you first."
A few things I won't compromise on.
Strategy before applications
I never recommend a lender before I understand your business. The right structure matters more than the fastest approval.
Clarity over complexity
You should understand exactly what you're getting into and why. If I can't explain it clearly, I won't recommend it.
No hard pull, no pressure
You deserve to explore your options without it costing you. I use soft pulls where possible and never push an application before you're ready.
Women entrepreneurs belong at the table
This industry has historically underserved women business owners. I'm here to change that, one conversation at a time.
It always starts with a conversation.
The 15-minute strategy review isn't a sales call. It's a real conversation about your business, your goals, and where you actually stand. From there, if I can help, I'll tell you exactly how. If I can't, I'll tell you that too.
I review your full picture first — revenue, cash flow, credit position, business structure.
I tell you the truth about your options, even if it's not what you hoped to hear.
When we move forward, we move with a clear plan — not a stack of applications and a prayer.
If you've ever wished someone would just sit down with you and explain your options clearly — that's exactly what I do.
No hard pull. No pitch. No pressure. Just a 15-minute conversation that gives you more clarity than most business owners get after months of applying on their own.
